Music

Music is taught in Years 7–9 to all students, and of course to GCSE and 'A' level to a smaller number. The Music Department is much more than an academic department however – most pupils’ relationship with the Music Department is enriched by the wide variety of co-curricular opportunities on offer. The aim of the Department is to provide for everyone a group that feels as if it is ‘for them’ and, if one does not exist, to create it where possible. These groups play a broad variety of repertoire and frequently our concerts find the likes of Bach side-by-side with the Beatles in the programme.
