British U16 Chess Championships

20.08.2012 - Second place for Tom

Congratulations to Tom Thorpe, who came joint second in the British U16 Chess Championships, half-a-point behind the winner. Tom's position was well deserved as he was undefeated during the tournament, winning two games and drawing five - he even beat the eventual winner in round three!

Tom is currently competing in the European Youth Chess Championships, representing Wales in the U16 category, in Prague. This means that he will be away from home when he receives his GCSE results on 23 August.

We wish Tom lots of luck, both in the competition and with his results.
