04.05.2012 - ...for a great, green season

The Greenpower racing season is underway and this year Bristol Grammar School have two cars competing, Megazord and SunZero.  Both were entered in two races over the weekend at Silverstone, the home of British Motorsport and both performed impressively. Megazord came sixth in the season opener and tenth in the Corporate Challenge. SubZero, the Sixth Form team's car, came tenth and twelth respectively.

Excitingly, SubZero also won an award for the most innovative design, receiving trophy presented by Siemens. The race results and the trophy are fantastic because they were achieved in two very competitive races, racing against cars from all round the world.

Commenting on their success, Sixth-form student Dan said: "We are very proud of SubZero for doing so well on its first race and for winning the trophy! Many thanks must be given to Mr and Mrs Thomas, Mr Gunston, Mr Kearton, the drivers, engineers, designers, website managers, pit crew and the rest of the team."
