School Life
Despite our excellent academic record, life at Bristol Grammar School Infant and Junior School is not just about academic excellence. Equally important is how we achieve the rounded development of each child, both as independent thinkers and valued members of our school community.
Good behaviour is promoted and achieved though positive affirmation and supported by a strong home-school partnership. Assemblies are used to celebrate individual achievements in all shapes and sizes, from a first swimming certificate, to support for a friend or success in a writing competition.
Our children are encouraged to take responsibility for themselves and each other. Our successful 'buddy system' helps new joiners find their feet and brings out some excellent qualities in the children who partner them. Our children become decision makers in the running of their School, sharing their plans and ideas with the Headmaster through our well-supported and active School Council.
Part of a wider community where opportunity is everywhere, encouragement is given and achievement is celebrated, our School is the first step towards our children becoming confident young adults with the desire, knowledge, courage and resilience to pursue their ideas and ambitions.
