Care and support

From the many programmes and activities that help young children settle so quickly into our School, to the individual support structures and initiatives that help nurture their own personal development, every step of the way, children at our School benefit from outstanding pastoral care and support.

Our positive and progressive learning environment is based on mutual respect between children and their teachers. It’s supported by a culture that creates a sense of fairness and celebrates achievement in all its very many forms.

In BGS Juniors, our House system provides another layer of community and support fostering a sense of belonging and team building. We welcome mums and dads into our classrooms, supporting each child by promoting partnership with parents, and also with Grandparents, celebrated in Grandparents' Day.

Our children learn to value their community, extended through the links they make with many individuals and organisations outside our School. They raise money for charity, some visit older people locally and they maintain an ongoing involvement in the welfare of children in partner schools overseas.

"Pupils show outstanding levels of spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. The programme for PSHE is outstanding in its breadth and detail; it strongly supports the development of moral standards in pupils."

Independent Inspectorate Report 2010.
