Music, art, dance and drama are integrated throughout the School to enhance our learning, inspire our children and enrich our school life.

 

In BGS Infants music, painting and dancing are key to making learning fun for the very youngest children.
 

From tea-time concerts to the annual Year 6 play, our children enjoy the excitement of performance, both informally in front of classmates and parents or as part of a big occasion. Coming together with Senior School Choirs and the University Symphonia Orchestra to perform the annual Pop Medley – whether it's The Beatles or the Beach Boys – is an inspirational and exhilarating opportunity for all BGS children in Year 5.

 

Every child is encouraged to explore her or his musical abilities by joining a choir or taking up an instrument. Children as young as Year 1 are helped to take their first steps towards discovering their own potential, learning through the Suzuki method to play the violin.

 

The excellent literary programme, run through the Senior School, provides unique opportunities for children to explore the excitement of reading with some of our most loved children’s authors, a programme which recently included a visit from Children’s Laureate, Anthony Browne.
