A broad and rich curriculum

Our students enjoy both choice and opportunity. They can discover their strengths though a wide range of optional subjects, within a curriculum that encourages them to realise their potential, explore their ideas and take their learning as far as they can go.

 

We offer four modern languages, perhaps one of the reasons why many students will take at least two as far as GCSE. In Design Technology, we offer three different GCSE courses. It’s an area where our students excel in their technical ability and innovation and where the School has been recognised as the best in the country for teaching Electronic Products to girls.

 

Science is a major strength of our School, and popular among both girls and boys. Many are inspired by the strong focus on practical work, gaining confidence by mastering key skills and enjoyment from experimentation.

 

In Art our teaching is structured to encourage students to explore their own ideas and find their own voice, attracting many students to continue their studies, achieving excellent results at ‘A’ level.

 

Along with the IGCSE offered in English and in Maths –another core strength of the School – this year sees the introduction of an IGCSE in Science as a robust preparation for ‘A’ level as well as the introduction of Food Technology and Textiles, part of a programme of continuing curriculum review and development.
