Our Learning Environment

Bristol Grammar School is a progressive school committed to maintaining the best possible co-educational learning environment. Standing alongside the magnificent and historic Great Hall and period Elton Road villas are many new buildings and facilities, part of a programme of continuous investment in line with educational and technological change.

Our students study in well-equipped specialist rooms, including fifteen science laboratories, a virtual language laboratory, specialist rooms for music, dance and drama including a 145-seat theatre and a first-class, purpose-built facility for Design Technology at the heart of the School. With more than 40,000 books, videos, DVDs, CDs, newspapers and journals, our School library is one of the largest in the country.

Last year, we expanded facilities for Art by 50%. This year sees the creation of a state of the art Food Technology room in a large space near to the main school entrance, two new science laboratories, the start of a wholesale refurbishment of the entire science wing, enlarged facilities for music teaching and practice, a new common room for Year 11, new teaching and rooming facilities for learning support and improved departmental space for Maths, History and Psychology. 
 

Our students enjoy some of the best facilities for sport in the country, 35 acres of grounds with grass and all-weather pitches and a pavilion close by at Failand. Indoor facilities right on our site include a sports hall, climbing wall, gym, dance studio and fitness suit.
