Bristol Grammar School is proud of the excellent academic results achieved by its students. In 2012, Seventeen students gained ten A*s or more and 98 students achieved an A or A* in eight or more subjects. 80% of all GCSE passes were an A or A*, with 94.4% of all entries being awarded an A*, A or B, a reflection of the hard work and commitment of every single one of our students and their teachers. 100 per cent of students at BGS achieved the recognised ‘pass rate’ of five grades A-C including English and Maths.

This year, A*s were the most common grade achieved by BGS students across fifteen subjects, In Maths, sat by all students in Year 11, 90% of all grades were an A* or A.

We also value the feedback we receive from external assessment and are always pleased when our high standard of achievement, excellent teaching and outstanding pastoral care are recognised though independent evaluation.

The Independent Inspectorate Report 2010 recognises the outstanding range of educational opportunities both within and outside the classroom. It made particular mention of the outstanding quality of pastoral care, reflected in pupils who “seize chances to take responsibility for themselves”.
