Care and Support

Feeling supported, being part of a family and a positive learning community brings out the very best in the girls and boys at our School.

 

Part of that support comes from the relationships formed with Year Heads, Form Tutors, academic staff and the experience of a team of staff with specific responsibility for ensuring we maintain our outstanding quality of pastoral care. Every student is also kept safely under the wing of a Head of House and his or her supporting House staff team.

 

Just as important is the careful system of support that students receive from a team of selected Sixth-formers, trained by a professional psychologist to deliver a mentoring rôle within the School. They provide a confidential and friendly advice service, visibly present in the School, and readily accessible through a drop-in centre, e-mail or secure post system. Our Peer mentors take the time to get to know the students in their designated year-group. They are often aware of developing issues, sometimes being able to pre-empt problems, an important layer in our closely knit network of support.
