Expeditions

Extending our learning through the exploration of new ideas and cultures, and stretching our personal boundaries through outdoor challenge and adventure: both are important parts of life for staff and students at Bristol Grammar School.

Students enjoy a rich and varied range of travel opportunities. Some, such as our Year 9 camp, are part of our curriculum, one of many activities that help our students discover their strengths, learn new leadership skills and bond as a team. So are our Geography field trips and the annual Battlefields trips that bring history alive for students in Year 10. School holidays offer a rich programme of overseas travel, uniting students of different interests and different age-groups in the cultural capitals of Europe, or taking them further afield to Russia and Japan.

These are augmented by experiences in the outdoors, the wilds and the wilderness, such as trekking in the Atlas Mountains or adventuring in the Arctic, life-changing opportunities for personal development for the students who embark on them.
