Our First Term

September brings with it the excitement of new faces, girls and boys joining our School in Year 7 and Year 9. Some may already have a flavour of what to expect, having visited for a taster day, and most will have met up with other new starters on an induction day. Everyone will be given a warm welcome, supported by a programme of events designed to help them find their feet, make new friends and become a valued member of our School.

 

For our new Year 7, House Parties are a high point of the first term’s calendar, a relaxed and informal way to get to know other pupils in the House, the Head of House and House prefects. Individual form groups come together in an entertaining and friendly Beetle Drive, which quickly has the children making friends with children right across their Year.

 

Year 9 students head off in House groups for two days under canvas, working together, learning about themselves and their class-mates, tackling a range of enjoyable outdoor challenges to bring them together as a team.

 

Just ten weeks later and it seems we’ve known each other forever...
