Extended Project

Bristol Grammar School is proud to offer the Extended Project to its A2 students. This additional and optional qualification is equivalent to half an ‘A’ level in terms of UCAS points. It’s also a really excellent way to showcase your organisational, research, critical thinking, extended writing and presentation skills and hugely valuable preparation for degree-level study. Many Universities that demand the highest grades have given their support to this qualification.

For those who choose to do it, the Extended Project is an opportunity to take their learning off at a tangent. You can choose to demonstrate greater depth in an existing area of study or take the opportunity to investigate something completely fresh or different, such as marine pollution, writing a School play or the study of oriental instruments.

This is a new qualification and its ethos is excellent, dovetailing perfectly into our many activities that encourage in-depth investigation and independent study amongst Sixth-form students.”
