Charitable Activity

At Bristol Grammar School, we recognise the importance of understanding our responsibilities as part of the wider community. Our staff and students have come together to create many different avenues and opportunities for everyone to get involved with community or charitable giving.

Breaking the sound barrier, busking and playing the Human Fruit Machine are some of the regular high points in our School Charity Week, scheduled once a term to raise money for a charity that students on the Charity Committee research and select.

Education for Allis a charity that the School has taken to its heart, and every year our students raise thousands of pounds to take to Morocco. It helps finance the provision of boarding house accommodation, enabling many young girls to complete their studies and stay on at school.

Many hundreds of students from Year 10 through to our Sixth Form take the opportunity to volunteer, using the time scheduled through our Activities Programme and supported by our own Community Volunteer co-ordinator. They help in local nurseries and primary schools, children’s centres, charity shops and residential homes, something which gives them an important insight into the needs of others as well as an appreciation of just how much volunteering is valued within our community.
