Financial assistance to help with fees
Strongly embedded in the tradition of the School is the support of those who wish to attend BGS, but lack the necessary means to do so. We offer substantial financial assistance towards the fees of able pupils whose parents have only limited means.
Peloquin Awards are available to entrants to Years 3 and 4, offering financial assistance to girls and boys who show strong academic potential and whose parents are in need of such aid. The awards are means tested and the amount of assistance offered depends on your family income. Honorary scholarships (without any financial award) may be offered to children who achieve the high academic standards necessary but do not qualify under the requirements concerning parental income.
Parents wishing to be considered for a Peloquin Award are required to supply details of their means before the main test date. Please contact the Admissions Office for an application form and full terms and conditions of the awards.
The Peloquin Award scheme runs only for Years 3 to 6 and is separate from the School’s Assisted Places (SAP) scheme which operates from Year 7 onwards. A separate application is necessary to be considered for SAPS, please see below for details.
Our School Assisted Places Scheme (SAPS) is a means tested scheme which offers considerable flexibility, and can provide totally free places for those on the lowest incomes. The Scheme is kept under regular review by the Governors.
Parents wishing to apply for a School Assisted Place are required to supply details of their means when applying for their children to take part in the Entrance Examination. The precise amount of assistance to be given to successful candidates will depend on gross family income, and is reviewed annually.
