The Old Bristolians’ Society exists to allow former pupils and staff to maintain contact with other Old Bristolians and, through the Society, to support the work of the School.
Around 1900 former pupils and staff are members of the Society. The main benefits of Society membership are :
The Society is a separate body from the School and is run almost exclusively by volunteers. The President holds office for a year. The other officers and members of the Committee are chosen by election and normally stay in office for a longer period.
We are always very keen to introduce new faces on to the Committee or to hear from Old Bristolians prepared to help with the running of events. In particular, we seek more involvement in the Society from young OBs, especially females, in order to reflect the co-educational status of the School. The OBs' Office would be delighted to hear from anyone willing to serve on the Committee or to participate in some other way. Also, the views of Old Bristolians as to the type of events/activities the Society should be providing will be welcomed.
Old Bristolians who are not already members of OBS are encouraged to become members and thereby put something back into the BGS community. Application forms are available for downloading from this website - join today!
