OB captains Cambridge to victory in Varsity match

This year's Varsity rugby match featured former BGS pupil Ross Blake as captain of the victorious Cambridge side.  Ross, who has previously played at scrum-half for both Bristol and Bath, is now an Economics student at Hughes Hall College and was captaining the Light Blues for the first time in the annual fixture against Oxford.

The match saw the lead swing back and forth between the two teams but Cambridge finally came out on top, 22 -16, holding out in the final few minutes against an intense Oxford assault on their try-line.  This was Cambridge's third successive victory over the Dark Blues, and a great day was topped for Ross when he was also named 'Man of the Match'.
