Congratulations to the U11 A netball team who played their best netball of the season so far to finish second in the Badminton School netball tournament. The team won five of their six pool matches and knocked out Clifton College in an exciting 4-3 victory before facing Badminton School A team in the semi-finals. A 2-2 draw at full-time, the match went to golden goal, meaning the first team to score would win. A great goal from BGS ensured our place in the final against Beaudesert School - the only team to beat us in qualifying stages.
After a thrilling match, the score was tied at 3-3 when the final whistle went so yet again it was time for a golden goal. Unfortunately, despite having one of our shots bounce out of the ring, Beaudesert scored the winning goal. Our congratulations go to all the members of the team who played very well against some strong opposition to finish second in this tournament.
Many thanks to the parents for supporting the team and a big thank you to Miss Trump for umpiring and the PE department for helping this to happen.
The Lower School Rugby teams are also enjoying a great season so far. The U9 Rugby team are the South West region champions and the U8s, U9s and U10s have all qualified for the national prep schools finals in Epsom on Sunday 2 March. Well done to all the teams and good luck in the finals next month.
