BGS has risen to number 126 (from 142) in the Financial Times Top 1000 schools ranking, placing BGS as the top day school in the Bristol and Somerset region.  The FT listing focuses “unashamedly on academic achievement as defined by ”core” subject A-level results (as set out by Cambridge University) and ranks schools on the points per candidate in core A-levels (to measure the quantity of work), and the points per entry in core A-levels (to measure the quality)”. More information on the tables and how they are created can be found on the FT website at http://www.ft.com/reports/top1000schools2008

Headmaster Dr Mascord said, “It is a great achievement for the school to be one of the top 150 schools in the country and is all down to the hard work of the staff and students, making BGS the perfect environment for pupils to grow in an academic and a personal sense.  We are delighted that this has been recognised in the FT listing."
