Josephine
Goddard, a pupil in Year 11, has won this year’s Young Musicians Platform
Competition held by the Two Moors Festival and sponsored by Classic FM. As the winner she is now set to perform at
The Two Moors concert hosted by Classic FM’s Anne-Marie Minhall, in Ashburton,
Devon, on 14th October, where she will be presented with her
finalist’s prize money of £250.
The festival,
whose patron is Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex, hosts the
competition to find four exceptionally talented young musicians who are aged 18
years and under. The winner’s prize also
included an invitation to sing at the Festival Garden Party at the end of June,
and a further concert at the end of the September.
This month Josephine
has also won the final of the Rotary District 1200 Young Musician Competition,
beating finalists from across the Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset
regions to the £150 prize money and coveted trophy.
