Josephine Goddard, a pupil in Year 11, has won this year’s Young Musicians Platform Competition held by the Two Moors Festival and sponsored by Classic FM.  As the winner she is now set to perform at The Two Moors concert hosted by Classic FM’s Anne-Marie Minhall, in Ashburton, Devon, on 14th October, where she will be presented with her finalist’s prize money of £250.

The festival, whose patron is Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex, hosts the competition to find four exceptionally talented young musicians who are aged 18 years and under.  The winner’s prize also included an invitation to sing at the Festival Garden Party at the end of June, and a further concert at the end of the September.

This month Josephine has also won the final of the Rotary District 1200 Young Musician Competition, beating finalists from across the Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset regions to the £150 prize money and coveted trophy.

Congratulations to Josephine, for her exceptional achievements. We wish you well in your future competitions.
