Catering

An independent caterer, Chartwells, provides food at BGS. At lunchtimes the Great Hall is transformed into a huge cafeteria with a wide daily choice ranging from a set meal (main course and dessert), a selection of hot dishes, salads, snack meals, hot and cold desserts, sandwiches, rolls, cakes and fruit. The menu reflects the trend towards healthy eating and each day includes a vegetarian dish.

Two additional serving points offer filled rolls, baguettes, sandwiches and snack food. These snacks are also available in the Sixth Form Centre. Menus are changed every week and there are occasional 'themed' days, such as Continental, Chinese and Caribbean.

A 'Continental' breakfast (cereal, toast, juice, drinks, as well as hot bacon rolls, croissants, etc.) is available in the Great Hall from 7.45am to 8.15am daily; parents are welcome to accompany their children.

The School operates a system of payment for lunches using smart card technology which removes the need for students to bring lunch money to School each day.
