Come to one of our Open Days
In October, we have a whole School Open Day offering insight and information about all our individual Schools and a Sports Open Day at our own Sports Grounds in Failand.

In November, we hold another Open Event specifically for those considering joining our Sixth Form.

Arrange a visit
There are many opportunities during the school year for you and your child to visit any of our Schools on a normal working day to experience first hand what BGS can offer you all. You can find more details and booking information for our Open Mornings and Tours on the Visit Us pages or from the Admissions Office, who will be happy to make arrangements for you.

Try a school day

Children thinking of joining can experience for themselves what life at BGS is like by spending a day or part of a day on a ‘Taster Session’ with an allocated buddy to accompany them throughout lessons and lunch. Various dates are available in the Autumn term. You can arrange a Taster Session through the Visit Us pages or via the Admissions Office.

Register your interest

Please complete the application form, which you can find at the back of the prospectus or download here, and return it to us with your £25 registration fee.

We will ask your child's current school for references and/or reports before examination or interview.

 

Assessments for entry

BGS Infants (Reception - Year 2):
Applications are accepted for entry into any year-group in the BGS Infants. Places are allocated on the basis of performance during an informal assessment session.

Lower School (Year 3 - Year 6):
Applications are accepted for entry into any year-group in the Lower School. Places are allocated on the basis of performance in the entrance tests, which are held in November, January and June.

Upper School and Sixth Form:
Year 7 - Year 10

Places in the Upper School are offered on the basis of performance in the BGS Entrance Examinations held in January for entry in the following September. The Examination is made up of a selection of age appropriate tests and papers in a variety of subjects and aptitudes. Some candidates may be invited in for a discussion or interview in the week following their assessment.

Lower Sixth
Candidates for the Sixth Form are invited for subject interviews in January and conditional offers are made shortly afterwards.
