The creative and performing arts are integrated throughout our School to enhance learning, inspire your child and enrich school life. Your son or daughter will make full use of the School’s 1532 Performing Arts Centre, including dance lessons in the Dance Studio, performing on stage in the Theatre or in concerts in The Mackay.
Alongside class Drama lessons, individual Speech and Drama lessons are also available and all Infant children have the opportunity to learn the violin with a specialist teacher as part of the curriculum. Your child will be encouraged to explore their musical talents by taking up an instrument or joining a choir, with individual instrumental tuition also offered. As a Sing Up Platinum Award-winning school there are many opportunities for your child to sing, from small choir performances to joining the massed choirs at the Young Voices Concert.
Parents and families are warmly welcome to attend regular performances and concerts the children put on. There are Teatime Concerts, a Performing Arts day and MADD (Music, Art, Dance and Drama) Evening to look forward to. The Infant Nativity and Junior School Shakespeare Schools Festival performance are always highlights and every Year 6 child will get the opportunity to perform in the Year 6 play, a great way to end their time in the Junior School.
At BGS every child is involved in outdoor activities, developing a strong sense of adventure in our pupils as they move up through our School.
With a wide variety of options to choose from, your child will always be able to find something to do at BGS.
We aim to make exercise fun and enjoyable, hopefully forming a lifelong habit for your child.
