#40Yearsin40Weeks: The 1989-90 academic saw the opening of the Mackay Theatre. The first production was ‘Oliver!’. It was also the final BGS production led by David Trott, who retired after more than 30 years at the school. https://t.co/VmscQmde8h
Bristol Grammar School is a very special place. From the early years of Reception, right up to the Sixth Form, our pupils are encouraged to get involved and to make the most of the many opportunities available to them, inside the classroom and out. The enthusiasm and energy with which they throw themselves into these opportunities and their willingness to take on a new challenge is a large part of what makes BGS such a rewarding place to be.
Strong relationships, both between our pupils, and between pupils and staff, create a genuinely warm atmosphere and a real sense of community here at BGS. Although your child’s educational journey may be divided into stages – BGS Infants and Juniors, Senior School and then Sixth Form – BGS is very much one school and, whenever they join, your child will be welcomed into the BGS family. The thriving links between the School and the alumni community of Old Bristolians is testament to the sense of belonging at BGS which lasts long after our students leave us.
I warmly invite you to come and spend some time with us, meet our pupils and staff, and discover for yourself just how much fun life at BGS can be. You can arrange a tour or taster day by contacting our Admissions Office. I very much look forward to welcoming you to our school.
