Film screening: A Bristol Billion

Thursday 9 March, 4pm

Event

Event date: Thursday 9 March, 4pm
Event location: Bristol Grammar School

Ever wondered what Bristol was like a hundred years ago? Or a thousand years ago? How about a million…or even further?

As an avid fossil hunter and graduate in palaeontology, BGS Science Technician James Ormiston has spent much of his life wondering the same thing. Over the last couple of years he has been working on a film about how not only Bristol Grammar School, not only Bristol as a city, but the very landscape has changed over hundreds of millions of years. A Bristol Billion will show you how clues hiding all around us, even in the school itself, give us a window into our deep past.

The film will be screened for the very first time on Thursday 9 March. The showing is open to both pupils and parents/guardians; if you are coming as the latter then please come to Reception at the main entrance for 4pm.
