“Nowadays people are programmed to fear strangers. Strangers are strange. But if I have any sense left, I have a feeling you needed to say that to someone.”
Pigeons is an original play, written and directed by Lower-sixth student Eden Vaughan for her EPQ, which is being performed by her peers.
You will meet two strangers – teenage girl Zoe and pigeon racer Andy who is nearing the end of his life – as they meet through the most unlikely of introductions. To their surprise, they find themselves strangely comforted by one another’s conversation in this time of vulnerability. Inspired by true events, this play illustrates the importance of conversation as a way to combat grief in all its forms.
Pigeons will be performed for one night only in the Theatre at 1532 Performing Arts Centre at 7pm (approximately 1 hour running time) on Tuesday 3 July.
Tickets are £2.00 on the door, no booking is required but you can reserve a place by emailing 1532@bgs.bristol.sch.uk
