Sixth Form Cook Along Christmas Curry

Thursday 10 December, 5.30pm

Event

Event date: Thursday 10 December, 5.30pm
Event location: Virtual Event

For the last six years, BGS Sixth Formers have supported the Caring at Christmas homeless shelter by providing donations of food, clothing and toiletries. Unfortunately, the shelter are not able this year to take donations as usual and are focusing their efforts on the Cheers Drive project to get food delivered to temporary accommodation.

In order to support this we are going to hold a Sixth Form ‘Cook along Christmas Curry’ on Zoom, hosted by our Zoom Cookery expert Kate Jones. Kate has been helping our Sixth Formers learn to cook, ready for university and beyond. This event however will be more than just cookery tuition; it is a chance for a (virtual) Sixth Form get together as we are unable to have our traditional Great Hall Christmas meal. We want the students to cook a meal for their family at home and we hope that in gratitude for their effort you will ‘repay’ them by making a donation to the Cheers Drive project.

Full details of how to join the event, recipes and how to donate have been sent via Operoo.

We hope that this event can bring a bit of seasonal cheer to the Sixth Form and their families as well as supporting this very worthwhile Bristol project. It would be lovely to think that we can provide even more meals to Bristol homeless than our thousands of previous donations have done. We thoroughly recommend seeing their short animation The Little City That Can if you have not done so.

We wholeheartedly agree that Bristol is the ‘Little City That Can’ and Bristol Grammar School can be a part of this with your help.
