Reception–Year 2

The Infant School day starts at 8.30am, although if your child arrives between 7.45am and 8am, they are welcome at Breakfast Club. Breakfast Club takes place in the Infant Kitchen where your son or daughter will be offered a selection of drinks, cereals and toast.

There is a twenty-minute morning break and lunch for the Infants is provided between 11.45am and 12.40pm each day. The children have their lunch in the Great Hall and can choose from a selection of hot meals. Special diets can be catered for. From time to time the children may have lunch at Failand. Lunch is included for all children as part of the termly bill. Menus are included in the Infant and Junior newsletter each week.

Afternoon lessons begin at 12.45pm, ending at 3.15pm for Reception and 3.30pm for Years 1 and 2. Children are usually collected by 3.45pm, but if you would like to pick-up your child later than this you can book them into after-school care (Stay & Play).

After-school care runs daily in term-time from 3.45pm until 5.45pm. This is run in the Year 2 building by a club leader, supported by our Teaching Assistants, so your child will be in a familiar environment, with familiar faces around them. Places must be booked at least 24 hours in advance and may be booked on a regular basis or for occasional days. There is an annual registration fee per family plus a charge for each session, added to your termly bill. The School is able to accept childcare vouchers for Stay & Play.

Teachers also run a range of after-school Clubs which your child might choose to take part in. These typically run for 45 minutes at the end of the School day and offer your child the chance to try a new hobby and to spend some time with friends.
