If you are interested in your son or daughter joining BGS in September 2025, you can register your interest with the Admissions Office, request a prospectus online, or book a visit to BGS.

Reception places are allocated on the basis of performance during an informal assessment session, which usually take about an hour and a half, supported by a report from your child’s current early learning setting (if applicable). For 2025 entry, these will take place on Saturday 18 and Saturday 25 January 2025.

Offers of places in BGS Juniors are made on the basis of performance in entrance assessments, supported by a report from your child’s current school.

For Year 3 entry, children are invited to spend a morning with us, where they will enjoy a series of tasks and activities, including verbal reasoning, mathematics and literacy. Full details of the assessment process will be sent to you once you've applied.

For Year 5 entry the assessment consists of creative writing, verbal reasoning and problem-solving tests. These will be explained to your child, with examples given and opportunities to ask for help, before they will be expected to work alone.

For entry to BGS Juniors in September 2025, assessments will be held in the week commencing 11 November 2024, with a second session in January 2025 subject to availability of spaces.
