Infant & Junior School

If you are interested in your son or daughter joining BGS, you can register your interest with the Admissions Office, request a prospectus online, or book a visit to BGS.

Reception applicants are invited to attend an informal 'Stay and Play' session, which usually take about an hour and a half, with observations from that session supported by a report from your child’s current early learning setting (if applicable). For 2027 entry, these will take place in January 2027.

Offers of places in BGS Juniors are made on the basis of performance in entrance assessments, supported by a report from your child’s current school.

For Year 3 entry, children are invited to spend a morning with us, where they will enjoy a series of tasks and activities, including verbal reasoning, mathematics and literacy. Full details of the assessment process will be sent to you once you've applied.

For Year 5 entry the assessment consists of creative writing, verbal reasoning and problem-solving tests. These will be explained to your child, with examples given and opportunities to ask for help, before they will be expected to work alone.

For entry to BGS Juniors in September 2027, assessments will be held in November 2026, with a second session in January 2027 subject to availability of spaces.
