Places are sometimes available in other year-groups or during the school year. Please contact Catherine Ball on 0117 933 9631 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for up-to-date information on the availability of places.
Reception places are allocated on the basis of performance during an informal assessment session, which usually take about an hour and a half, supported by a report from your child’s current early learning setting (if applicable). These will be held on Saturday 18 and 25 January 2020 (your child will only need to attend one session).
Offers of places in BGS Juniors are made on the basis of performance in entrance assessments, supported by a report from your child’s current school.
For Year 3 entry, children are invited to spend a morning with us, where they will enjoy a series of tasks and activities, including verbal reasoning, mathematics and literacy. Full details of the assessment process will be sent to you once you've applied.
For Year 5 entry the assessment consists of creative writing, verbal reasoning and problem-solving tests. These will be explained to your child, with examples given and opportunities to ask for help, before they will be expected to work alone.
For entry to BGS Juniors in September 2020, assessments will be held week commencing 11 November 2019. Please note offers will be made following the first assessment session, which may impact on the availability of places for subsequent test dates.
