Finding your strengths

Year 10 and 11 will see your child having specific lessons focused on careers which will inform them about the options for Post-16 and Post-18 study. These sessions will also concentrate on A level or International Baccalaureate subject choices for those wishing to continue on to the Sixth Form at BGS.

During the summer term of Year 10 your child will be introduced to the Morrisby Careers Guidance online tests. These tests are a range of on-line psychometric assessments which will be taken at School. The results are available immediately and can be used to form the basis of discussion and for career exploration.

In Year 11 your daughter or son will attend a Higher Education Conference in school where we invite university representatives to come and talk to our students about a range of university courses and the universities themselves. Pupils will also be encouraged to seek out their own work experience placements over the holidays to add to their CVs and learn about a work environment.

There is no such thing as a ‘typical’ Bristol Grammar School pupil; your child is unique with their own talents and interests and they will find their own place at BGS.
