Charter Day 2020

Tuesday 17 March marked the 488th anniversary of the awarding of Bristol Grammar School's charter by Henry VIII in 1532. Usually the School community would gather in Bristol Cathedral to mark the occasion but the decision was taken to cancel the service, owing to the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.

While we could not meet as a group to mark BGS's long history, the day's traditional daffodils were still in evidence, thanks to the pupils of Niamir's House. The flowers were being sold in aid of Niamir's House charity, Teenage Cancer Trust and brought some very welcome spring brightness to the day, as well as raising over £100 for the charity, which supports young people with cancer.

Well done Niamir's House.
