After the first year of fundraising to support children at BGS through bursaries (the 500 Campaign) and over £1million raised we were delighted to host a Donors’ Lunch in the Great Hall last Saturday. We welcomed over 100 OBs, parents, staff and friends together with Sixth Form students and musicians.
This is the first time we have celebrated philanthropy and friendship at BGS in this way and what a wonderful occasion it was!
The guest list included people who had collectively donated over £4million to BGS over the years; former parents, OBs and friends of the school; a real mix of ages and backgrounds and all with a shared interest in BGS and our new Campaign which aims to raise £11million over the next 10 years.
Belnice Nzinga (OB 2021) was our guest speaker – a 19-year-old medical student currently studying at Bristol University – who talked passionately about the positive experience of her time at BGS and her gratitude to those who support children through bursaries. She also showed a short film she’d made herself, interviewing others just like her.
Thank you to everyone who got involved– including our generous donors and volunteers, students and the whole School team.
