MUN at Queen's College Taunton

On Saturday BGS Model United Nations delegates took part in their final external event of the season at Queen’s College, Taunton. Representing South Africa, they debated topical issues such as plastic waste in the oceans and cyber warfare. This was a young team experiencing, in many cases, their first proper MUN event, so it was all the more impressive that they managed to earn an overall Commended Delegation prize.

There were individual awards for Benedict, who was Highly Commended on the Security Council, for Kyle, Highly Commended on the Economic and Social Committee and for Inigo as a Commended Delegate in the Human Rights Committee.

We now thank our departing team of MUN officers led by Benedict and welcome a new team from the Lower Sixth to carry the United Nations flag forward next year: Jack as Secretary-General and his Deputies Charlotte, Ollie and Elliot.
