Year 10 student Daniel (Scott's House) has been awarded the George Morgan squash award for juniors playing squash in Avon. He was nominated alongside six other players in the county, including fellow BGS student Ahmed (Year 8, Edwards's), and chosen by league squash players in Bristol.
Daniel has played in the School's First V squash team for the past two years and also competes in both local adult box matches and Avon county junior boxes; last month he was the winner in Box 1 in the Avon junior boxes against some tough opposition. Over the last 12 months his squash ranking has improved by 116% and he has entered almost all the junior events in the area including the Avon Junior Closed and the South West Regional Closed. He was the winner of the U15a category at the Redland Junior Graded tournament in October 2017 and he has also represented the Avon County Junior boys team at U15 and U17 this season. Besides playing he has volunteered to help with the junior coaching and is really good with the younger players.
Well done to Daniel on these many impressive achievements.
