The European Astro Pi Challenge offers young people the amazing opportunity to conduct scientific investigations in space by writing computer programs that run on Raspberry Pi computers aboard the International Space Station.
A huge congratulations to team RedShift who have got their experiment up into space in the Mission Space Lab Challenge.
Josh, Daniel, Michael, Joseph, Rohan and Alex, all in the Lower Sixth at Bristol Grammar School, have been working extremely hard since November on the project. Their experiment idea allowed them to create a program that takes pictures from the International Space Station at set time intervals and then uses image processing to categorise them in regard to how mathematically 'beautiful' they are considered. They now await the results so they can analyse the data.
