Last week BGS Scholars welcomed parents and guardians and prospective scholars to our annual Scholars’ Showcase, an evening designed to give a taste of all that Scholars are involved with at BGS, and a snapshot of the different activities, challenges, and opportunities available to them.
Scholars from across the Senior School and Sixth Form were in attendance, representing a broad spectrum of subjects and talents. Alongside Academic Scholars, with all-round strengths, there were Creative and Performing Arts Scholars in Music, Dance, Drama and Art, together with Sports Scholars and Sixth Form subject scholars, appointed for their abilities in a particular academic subject.
Each stall and presentation was led by the Scholars themselves and they did a brilliant job sharing their experiences and interests with the many guests in attendance. As well as stalls for specific scholarship areas, there were stalls showcasing STEM, Greenpower racing, Maths challenges, and even live Art. As well as the opportunity to chat with our Scholars, attendees were also treated to musical performances, poetry recitations – including in Russian – dance, drama and more during the evening.
From start to finish, Scholars showed their capabilities, rising admirably to the challenge of running the Showcase. They displayed the immense variety of activities they lead and participate in at Bristol Grammar School, providing an entertaining, informative, and enriching evening for a Great Hall that was packed with guests. Congratulations to them on representing themselves and BGS so well.
