Celebrating partnerships at BGS

Bristol Grammar School is delighted to be marking the Independent School Council’s (ISC) Partnerships Week, in recognition of the collaborative work taking place between independent and maintained sector schools.

At BGS we are committed to close collaboration and resource and expertise sharing with our community, working to expand opportunities for children in the local area.

We are very proud of the work our staff do as governors in local schools, our teachers who share expertise with a wide range of primary and secondary partners across our city and of the exciting work of the Bristol Educational Partnership which aims to Overcome disadvantage, raising aspirations, broaden education and inspire staff.

We also recognise the inequalities in our city and are working hard to widen access to the school via significant extension of our bursary programme. We are proud partners of the Royal National Children’s SpringBoard programme, supporting Looked After Children to gain access to the opportunities BGS can provide. We know at BGS we are in a privileged position and accommodate community use of our Sports Ground, and the Performing Arts Centre, as well as other school facilities, last year saving costs of over £25,000 for our partners. Supporting our partners’ co-curricular activities helps to keep young people active and promotes physical and mental health, one of our core aims.

We are excited to grow our partnerships with state schools and community groups in 2022 and beyond.

More details of our partnerships can be found on the Schools Together website.

Happy Partnerships Week!
