We are delighted to be able to start the term with the news that the BGS Senior chess team finished in the top half (equal 7th out of 16 teams) in the National Finals of the Team Chess Challenge at Imperial College yesterday (19 April). Congratulations to the team – Chirag, Kandara, Jonathan and Advay – who played very well, winning three of their five matches.
This is the second year in a row the BGS team has reached the national finals of this competition, matching last year’s seventh place finish. It also follows on from the success of our Junior team in reaching the corresponding national final of this competition at the end of last term.
