Win for BGS Chess team

Congratulations to the chess team on their victory last night over Redland Green School by 4.5–1.5.
They have now reached the regional semi-finals of the National Schools’ Championships.
The school has also continued to enjoy individual success in chess; our school chess captain, Chirag (Year 9), achieved an excellent result to finish in the top half of the prodigious London Chess Classic in December, and on 19 January two BGS players won their respective sections in the South Wales Junior Chess Congress in Chepstow: Tom in Year 7 and Dan in Year 11.
