BGS delegates took part in a virtual MUN event hosted by Cheadle Hulme School on Saturday. We represented Brazil on 8 committees, tackling subjects as varied as animal agriculture and the issue of Jerusalem. In keeping with the spirit of the event we fielded a number of inexperienced delegates for whom this was their first event outside of BGS. Pride of place in terms of awards goes to Rory in Year 10, chosen as Highly Commended Delegate by his peers, most of whom were from older year groups.
Also successful were Upper-sixth students Rosa (Outstanding Delegate in her committee) and Inigo (Commended Delegate). In the Autumn we hope to return to Cheadle Hulme in person to work with and compete with some of the best MUN schools in the country. Meanwhile, congratulations to all our delegates and to our hosts for making an event on Zoom work so well.
