Year 10 Bristol Grammar School pupil Jasleen has been invited to read a prayer during the service to mark the Centenary of the Armistice at Westminster Abbey this Sunday.
Her invitation came at the suggestion of Never Such Innocence – a project set up to engage young people around the world with the centenary year of the ending of the Great War. Jasleen’s poem, The Indian Soldier, was a winning entry in the Never Such Innocence 2018 competition, which she entered at the suggestion of BGS Head of History Mr Hambly.
Sunday’s service will be broadcast live on BBC1 from 5.10pm and is sure to be a moving and historic occasion. We are proud that Jasleen will be representing BGS at this event and are sure that she is equally proud to be involved in such a momentous occasion, especially in this most poignant of years.
