The boys' hockey teams have made a strong start to the season, with some great results across the age-ranges.
The season opened with a successful set of fixtures against Queen’s Taunton, with the BGS sides winning eight of the eleven games. This was followed by a set of twelve matches against Sherborne and Millfield Prep. The First XI won comfortably, 4–1, and there were also wins for the U14A, U14B, U13A and U12A. The following weekend the School played against The King’s School, Gloucester and Rendcomb College. The First XI drew 1–1 but there were wins for the Second XI, U15A, U14A, U13A and U12A teams.
The First XI also qualified for the South West Tier 4 competition, after defeating Beechen Cliff and narrowly losing to Kingswood in the opening round. In the Independent Schools’ Hockey Cup, the U13A team defeated KES Bath and Taunton School and are due to play Blundell’s in the last sixteen. The U15A team had a walkover against Well’s Cathedral and defeated Millfield School 4–1 to also reach the last sixteen, where they will play Taunton School. We wish all the teams the best of luck.
