This week, BGS joined schools and communities around the world in marking the UN Global Day of Parents and Carers, taking the opportunity to celebrate the many people who support, encourage and care for our pupils every day.
Pupils spent time thinking about the everyday things parents and carers do – from school runs and cooking meals, through to listening ears, words of encouragement and those all-important reminders, before finding their own way to say thank you.
Our youngest Infant pupils created special drawings, Junior pupils wrote heartfelt notes, and Senior pupils produced thank-you messages or vouchers promising helpful acts at home, such as tidying their room or washing the car.
The thoughtful activities took place throughout the week before the personalised ‘thank yous’ made their way home to remind parents and carers to how much their support is appreciated.
