On 29 March pupils and parents gathered in the JCR for the Renishaw Competition presentation evening. Over sixty students entered the competition this year, including for the first time pupils from BGS Infants and Juniors. After being shown products that were ‘all the rage’ twenty years ago, such as VHS tapes, floppy disks, and Kodak film, the children in the Infant and Junior School were tasked with creating their own gadgets that they thought could be widely used twenty years’ in the future. The number of entries from across all year groups was truly impressive as was the quality of the presentation and level of ingenuity.
At the Prize Giving work from the Infant, Junior and Senior School was on display, including a new section for Science Videos. Blake Kendrick and Mark Buckingham, from Renishaw, joined us and awarded the prizes (from Beats Pill wireless speakers by Dr Dre to GoPro action camcorders). STEM continues to attract the enthusiasm of many of our talented students. Well done to everyone who took part.
