Inter-school chess success

Congratulations to our chess players on their highly successful results in the final online inter-school tournaments of the term on the evening of Friday 4 December.
We had over 30 players from six different year-groups representing BGS, playing in two different sections. Our first team came second out of 10 teams in the top section, whilst our second team finished runaway winners out of the 10 teams in a section which welcomes players who are relatively new to competitive chess. There were lots of great individual results from both newer and more experienced members of the team.
This really shows the strength and depth of BGS chess as we look forward to our first online House Chess Championships on Tuesday.
