Well done to the U14 Boys' Badminton team on a strong performance in the South West Regional competition.
The team faced some tough opposition, finishing the tournament with a record of won two and lost two to end up fifth in the South West. They started slowly against Truro school who took full advantage to comfortably beat us, but bounced back to record a straightforward win against Ansford School.
In their third match, they played their best to push hard a very strong, older team from Bournemouth Boys', with the final score of 4–1 not demonstrating how close the individual games had been. In the 5th/6th place playoff, the score was tied 2–2 as the Soldani brothers held their nerve in the final doubles game to secure the victory. With three Year 7s and a Year 8 in the team, it bodes well for the future to have been so competitive in this year's competition.
