Bristol Grammar School is thrilled to announce Keith Scholey as the judge for this year's BGS Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. With an illustrious career in natural history filmmaking and a deep-rooted passion for the animal kingdom, Keith Scholey brings unparalleled expertise and a keen eye to this year's competition.
Keith is currently a director of Silverback Films Ltd and Studio Silverback Ltd. Previously, he was the Head of the BBC’s Natural History Unit. Silverback have most recently produced the acclaimed ‘Wild Isles’ series in collaboration with BBC, RSPB, WWF and The Open University. His other credits with Silverback include a series producer of the Netflix series ‘Our Planet’, executive producer of the BBC One series ‘A Perfect Planet’, ‘The Mating Game’ and ‘The Earthshot Prize’ with Prince William. He is also a director of the Netflix feature film ‘David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet’ and the Disneynature feature films ‘African Cats’, ‘Bears’ and ‘Dolphin Reef’. Born and raised in East Africa, he qualified as a Zoologist with both a degree and Phd from Bristol University. His career began as a wildlife stills photographer, a passion he continued throughout his television career.
