More STEM success for BGS girls

Once again this year, girls from Year 9 at Bristol Grammar School travelled to Weston-super-Mare for the Skirting Science event. 22 students spent the day at Churchill Academy for a day of hands-on STEM workshops.

The girls enjoyed designing Airbus cabins and racing air engines with Rolls Royce and we are delighted that teams from BGS won both these competitions. Other workshops included the science behind pathology, building and programming robots, separating blood and the chemistry behind fragrances and polymers used in everyday life.

Congratulations to Eleanor and Tilly from Glenn’s House who won the Rolls Royce racing air engines competition, and Natasha, Alice and Jess (Scott’s), Marina (Glenn’s), and Alice (Edwards’s) who won the cabin design with Airbus – another great result for girls in STEM at BGS.
