Junior Chess Grandprix at BGS

On Sunday 10 November, BGS was delighted to a host a Somerset Junior Chess Grandprix tournament for the first time.
The event was held in the Sixth Form Centre where a field of almost 120 players from Year 2 upwards took part, some of them competing in their first ever event. Among them was a large contingent from BGS, with approximately thirty Junior School children and ten from the Senior School. This was a long all-day event and all the children did amazingly well and showed amazing resilience. Well done to all the children and especially Ruben and Orin for winning medals in Junior age categories and to Kandara who did likewise in the senior section.
