Higher Education News

This year 148 of our Upper Sixth students have made applications to higher and further education institutions, both in the UK and further afield – between them submitting in excess of 720 separate applications. While the majority of Bristol Grammar School pupils apply for university in the UK, a couple of pupils have also applied further afield. At this stage we are still waiting for a number of decisions to come back, but around 500 individual offers have been received so far with many pupils gaining successful decisions from all five institutions they have applied to.

Most notably, eleven students have received offers from the universities of Oxford or Cambridge, and a further nine students to date have received offers for Medicine courses. Just over 400 of all of the individual offers received have come from highly selective institutions across a wide variety of subjects. Furthermore, students have also received offers for specialist courses in Art, Drama, and Theatre Performance, as well as making strong applications for highly competitive degree apprenticeship opportunities. Bristol Grammar School is committed to supporting the aspirations of all of our pupils, irrespective of pathway, and we look forward to sharing more news of success as it comes in.
